Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician to join our Discovery Genomics team. The successful candidate will help advance Bristol-Myers Squibb’s industry leading pipeline through the integration and analysis of proteomic, transcriptomic, genomic and clinical data.

The Genomics group provides experimental support for Immuno-Oncology, Immunoscience, Fibrosis and Cardiovascular treatment areas in target identification, pre-clinical models and translational studies for first-in-human trials. We also leverage molecular data obtained from Phase I/II/III studies and develop new molecular techniques to answer key questions that will advance Discovery programs. Bioinformatics is a key part of this process and the candidate will have opportunity to work across treatment areas, data modalities and from early discovery to through translational research

Responsibilities:

·Analysis of LC/MS proteomic datasets from human and model organisms to identify differentially abundant proteins and post-translational events (e.g. phosphorylation, citrullination, ubiquitination and glycosylation).

·Development of best practices for experimental design, normalization, peptide identification and normalization for studies with 100s of samples collected over months or years.

·Collaboration with proteomics bench scientists to optimize Data Independent Acquisition (DIA) methods and data analyses pipelines.

· Building of integrated datasets comprising proteomics, RNA-Seq, SNP, CNVs and immunophenotyping in order to facilitate drug target identification, enable patient enrichment strategies, and prioritize combination therapies.

· Engage the Cambridge scientific community to identify and build collaborations in genomics and proteomics.

Qualifications:

·Ph.D. in bioinformatics, biochemistry, genetics, engineering, statistics, physics, molecular biology or similar discipline with 3-6 years of experience.

·Proficiency using R and Bioconductor packages and at least one scripting language (e.g. Python or Perl).

·Proficiency is proteomics specific software such as MaxQuant, Chorus, SEQUEST, COMET, Skyline and DIA specific software such as EncyclopeDIA, Spectronaut, OpenSWATH (or others with similar function).

·Experience with LC/MS data processing, peptide identification, normalization and statistical testing for differential abundance

·Strong background in RNA/DNA/epigenomic data analysis and biological interpretation.

·Ability to communicate effectively with biologists, biostatisticians and computational scientists.

·Background in Oncology or Immunology and previous molecular biology lab experience a plus.

·Experience with machine learning algorithms or clinical trial data a plus.
