This position responsible for the informatics analytics and software development to support cutting edge approaches of biopharmaceuticals discovery and development. This position is based in New York City, collaborates with global Research IT team, supports the implementation of biopharmaceutical informatics solutions across multiple Lilly sites: San Diego, New York and Indianapolis.

The successful candidate will leverage their knowledge of biology, protein science, informatics, problem solving, analytical techniques and strong software development skills to:

  • Foster collaborations with scientists in Lilly New York, collect business requirements and translate to system requirements for the system architect.
  • Working with New York site scientists on biopharmaceutical IT system adaption.
  • Working with biologics IT core team, implement features that are specific to LNY site.
  • Investigate, design and implement in silico pipeline for bioanalytics developability of biopharmaceuticals.
  • Develop, implement and support novel informatics solutions for scientists to drive the interrogation of biopharmaceuticals data for speedy decision making.
Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD OR Master's plus 3 years of bioinformatics experience OR Bachelor's plus 8 years of bioinformatics experience
  • Experienced in bioinformatics technologies, such as sequence alignment, clustering and blasting, splicing, Next Generation Sequencing.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Knowledge in protein science and engineering is highly desired.
  • Proficient in data mining, machine learning algorithms for pattern detection and data modeling.
  • Proficient in one of the programming language such as PHP, Perl, Python, R.
  • Proficient in Unix/Linux OS and shell scripting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently to analyze customer requirements and design solutions.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Agile learner and self-motivated team player.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical company or life science industry is desired.
