Job Description:
The Agronomic Traits group at DuPont Pioneer is seeking a Research Scientist to lead nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) lead optimization and trait development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategy to improve lead efficacy and driving production event generation, selection, test, and advancement. The candidate will coordinate activities across different functional groups to ensure project timeline and milestone.

1. Work in conjunction with Senior Research Manager to establish NUE lead optimization strategy, test strategy, and project goals aligned with business goals.

2. Develop and execute research plan to generate and identify production events for improving corn nitrogen use efficiency.

3. Lead cross-functional team to improve lead efficacy, confirm lead efficacy in elite corn, and advance lead for product development.

4. Monitor research progress and communicates with key stakeholder on progress of product opportunities and makes recommendations.

5. Establish and manage internal and external collaborations.

6. Remain current in research area and new technology by reading literatures, participating in professional meetings, and networking with other external or internal scientists.

7. Implement and monitors safe working practices.

8. May serve on teams appropriate to cross project research initiatives.

Job Qualifications

PhD in plant science and minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experiences with demonstrated expertise in plant molecular biology, plant physiology, bioinformatics, and trait development. Excellent knowledge in NUE product development with strong molecular biology and bioinformatics skills. An independent, self-motivated, and creative scientist with successful track record of delivering results. Strength in data analysis, interpretation and driving conclusions. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based, cross-functional environment. Excellent oral or written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and allocate resources accordingly. .
