Job Description:
The primary purpose of the Research Scientist position is to apply technical expertise and experience to the planning, coordination, design, and execution of research project(s) that involve metabolomic analyses. The successful applicant will interface directly with researchers conducting projects with the Core Facility. The salary range is min $ 51,600 mid $ 64,500 max $ 77,400.

Key Functions:

  • Project Assistance:
  • As a staff member of the Proteomics and Metabolomics Core Facility, the Research Scientist will plan and coordinate cell-based experiments for investigators.

  • Sample Preparation:
  • As a staff member of the Proteomics and Metabolomics Core Facility, the Research Scientist will process and analyze biological samples for investigators.

  • Protocol Composition:
  • The Research Scientist will compose and edit scientific protocols and standard operating procedures.

  • Facility Administration:
  • The Research Scientist will maintain the laboratory’s chemicals/reagents inventory, assist with ordering supplies, assist with coordination of safety inspections, and handle other administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Equipment maintenance:
  • The Research Scientist will assist with the maintenance of equipment (e.g., incubators, microscopes, balances, freezers, centrifuges, refrigerators, etc.) and coordination of service, as necessary.

    Education:

    Required: PhD in one of the natural sciences or related field or Medical degree.

    Experience:

    Required: With PhD, no experience required. With Medical degree, two years of experience in experimental or scientific work.
