Celmatix is a research-driven precision medicine company focused on maximizing fertility. We seek a Research Scientist to join our growing interdisciplinary team of biologists, bioinformatics scientists, and data scientists. This role provides both a platform for engaging in fundamental research discoveries and for rapidly translating those breakthroughs into groundbreaking new products that impact patient outcomes.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Participating in functional annotation of the human genome with respect to fertility potentialParticipating in joint research projects with collaborators in academic groups focused on expanding our fundamental understanding of the molecular drivers of fertility potentialCollaborating internally on the development of digital tools and processes designed to streamline discoveryWorking closely with the product team and software developers on new product featuresTaking the lead in developing presentations, publication-ready papers, and meeting abstractsAn ideal candidate would have proven experience:
Working in a highly collaborative environment on interdisciplinary research projectsEfficiently acquiring new technical skills or shifting domain expertise over the course of career development and training periodCommunicating research discoveries through meeting presentations, publications, and grant applicationsCommunicating research findings through lectures and publicationsAn ideal candidate would have the following academic background and concrete skills:
MD or PhD in the Biological Sciences or a related field from a top tier training programProficiency in the fundamentals of molecular genetics and cell biologyExposure to genomics, statistical analysis, and data science are preferred but not requiredStrong organizational, written, and communication skillsGood analytical and problem solving abilitiesA proven publication recordExperience in genetic biomarker discovery research is preferred but not requiredExperience in reproductive biology or early development is preferred but not requiredThe ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
