Job Description:
Celmatix is a research-driven precision medicine company focused on maximizing fertility. We seek a Research Scientist to join our growing interdisciplinary team of biologists, bioinformatics scientists, and data scientists. This role provides both a platform for engaging in fundamental research discoveries and for rapidly translating those breakthroughs into groundbreaking new products that impact patient outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participating in functional annotation of the human genome with respect to fertility potential Participating in joint research projects with collaborators in academic groups focused on expanding our fundamental understanding of the molecular drivers of fertility potential Collaborating internally on the development of digital tools and processes designed to streamline discovery Working closely with the product team and software developers on new product features Taking the lead in developing presentations, publication-ready papers, and meeting abstracts Requirements:
An ideal candidate would have proven experience:
Working in a highly collaborative environment on interdisciplinary research projects Efficiently acquiring new technical skills or shifting domain expertise over the course of career development and training period Communicating research discoveries through meeting presentations, publications, and grant applications Communicating research findings through lectures and publications An ideal candidate would have the following academic background and concrete skills:
MD or PhD in the Biological Sciences or a related field from a top tier training program Proficiency in the fundamentals of molecular genetics and cell biology Exposure to genomics, statistical analysis, and data science are preferred but not required Strong organizational, written, and communication skills Good analytical and problem solving abilities A proven publication record Experience in genetic biomarker discovery research is preferred but not required Experience in reproductive biology or early development is preferred but not required The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
Enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment with a diverse team to tackle complex problems Is disciplined and driven to deliver ongoing research results Has a positive attitude with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done Is highly organized Is a strong written and verbal communicator Has a diligent work ethic with emphasis on execution Benefits:
