• Have practical experience in interpreting genome-wide data
• Have a good knowledge of genome sequence assembly, sequence mining and biochemical pathway mapping
• Have experience with UNIX systems, along with a couple of relevant programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, Java, etc.) is preferred
• Have good understanding of relational databases , SQL and web-services
• Familiarity with public molecular biology resources, such as GenBank, UniProt, or PDB
• Be able to communicate results in a timely manner with clarity and precision, both verbally and in writing
• Keep high quality detailed work records
• Have prior experience of pharmaceutical data, chemical structures a• nd biological sequences and bioassay screening data would also be very desirable

The opportunity is for a Research Scientist/Bioinformatician to work within a vibrant drug discovery team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience of, or an interest in, understanding drug mechanisms of action and resistance on a genome-wide scale.
