Research Technician Queen Mary, University of London - William Harvey Research Institute Location: City Of London Salary: £26,428 per annum (Grade 4) Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Contract / Temporary Placed on: 29th April 2015 Closes: 19th May 2015 Job Ref: QMUL5853
A Research Technician post is available for one year funded by a project grant from the British Heart Foundation and will be based in the groups of Dr Harmer and Professor Tinker in the William Harvey Heart Centre at Barts and the London Medical School. The project aims to understand how subunits underlying an important K+ current in the heart interact and how this might change in disease in the long QT syndrome. The post would be ideal for a new graduate interested in gaining some laboratory experience in molecular biology and biochemistry and a taster of what a scientific career might involve.
Applicants will be expected to have a BSc with a background in cell and molecular biology.
The post is full time and on a fixed term contract for one year. The starting salary will be £26,428 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme, and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
