Job Description:
Responsibilities:

- The research technician will primarily work on several ongoing research projects that involve cancer biology, translational pathology and molecular biology.

- Other responsibilities include general lab maintenance (ordering supplies, lab organization), and other duties as needed.

- This is an ideal position for a recent graduate who is intellectually motivated, works well independently and will seek out advice when needed.

Specific Responsibilities include:

-Working with murine models and tissue analysis.

-Flow cytometry and cell sorting.

-DNA isolation, PCR and DNA sequencing.

-Bioinformatics including, identification of DNA mutations.

-Routine molecular biology including DNA manipulation, Gel electrophoresis, Immunoblotting.

-Cell culture and manipulation with viral constructs.

-Pathologic procedures including, immunofluorescence, immunohistology (IHC) and in situ hybridization.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s degree in a biological science is required and bench research experience recommended.

- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- Good interpersonal skills.

- To be successful in this position, the technician must have scientific curiosity and be self-motivated, have good organizational skills, the ability to work and think independently, and able to follow directions as well as trouble-shoot when needed.
