About the Job:

60% Technical support: Provide technical support to the lab to include responsibilities such as animal husbandry, animal welfare (which may include occasional work on the weekends), histology/necroscopy, intracranial surgeries and neuroanatomy.

40% Research: Execute structured research project that focuses on specific brain regions that affect motivation to take drugs and the interaction between stressors and drugs. The candidate will be expected to provide intellectual input to the project although will receive overall direction and guidance from the PI. Individuals are expected to keep detailed records of all experiments and procedures in a lab notebook, as well as in various databases.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications (must be mentioned on application/resume): -BA/BS with a major in biological or computer science (Biology, Physics, Neuroscience, Psychology, Computational science, Cognitive science) or related education and work experience to equal four years.

-Individuals must have had some research experience in a clinical or basic science setting. Must be willing to handle/work with rodents. Applicants must be highly organized and willing to work in team setting. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with rodent animal models
