Job Description:
Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoctoral position (visiting fellow or research fellow) in cancer genomics and mouse modeling with Dr. Isaac Brownell's laboratory in the Dermatology Branch, Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute, NIH. The group is interested in the carcinogenesis of Merkel cell carcinoma, a neuroendocrine tumor of the skin. Studies will include validation of oncogenomic data (gene expression, CGH, deep sequencing) from human tumor samples and application of mouse genetics to create a preclinical animal model. A successful candidate will have a PhD in the biomedical sciences and a strong background with cancer biology, bioinformatics, and/or mouse genetics. Experience with biostatistics, genomics data mining, molecular biology, cancer immunology, or developmental biology would be desirable. The position is available starting September 2014. Initial appointment will be for two years.
