Reserach Assistant Professor in Data ScienceUniversity of NebraskaStatistisUnited States-Nebraska-Lincoln Develop a strong research and teaching program in data science, which contributes to the organizational mission (e.g., Agricultural Research Division, Office of Research and Economic Development, and College). Responsibilities will focus on (1) developing methods for quantitative and computational analyses in the life sciences, (2) developing software implementations of novel analytical approaches, and (3) using newly emerging analytical and computational tools to make significant contributions to life sciences research. The incumbent will be expected to average 0.25 FTE as determined by the CASNR Academic Appointment Guidelines. The incumbent is expected to develop and teach graduate seminars and workshops on topics relevant to data in the life sciences, and contribute to educational activities associated with the doctoral program in Complex Biosystems. Specific teaching activities may be changed over time based on academic unit need.

Seek and establish effective disciplinary and transdisciplinary collaborations including effective integration with research groups and educational programming. Connect with stakeholders, agency and/or industry partners to strengthen research/educational programming. Publish in high-quality, high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and participate in scientific meetings and other appropriate professional activities.

Contribute, as an effective scholar and citizen of a land-grant institution, to the integrated mission of home units (e.g., department, center), including supporting student recruitment and IANR science literacy initiative, and beyond. PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or closely related field; ABD applicants will be considered.
