P&G serves approximately 4.8 billion people around the world with its brands. The Company has one of the strongest portfolios of trusted, quality, leadership brands, including Always®, Ambi Pur®, Ariel®, Bounty®, Charmin®, Crest®, Dawn®, Downy®, Duracell®, Fairy®, Febreze®, Gain®, Gillette®, Head & Shoulders®, Lenor®, Olay®, Oral-B®, Pampers®, Pantene®, SK-II®, Tide®, Vicks®, Wella® and Whisper®. The P&G community includes operations in approximately 70 countries worldwide. Please visit http://www.pg.com/ for the latest news and in-depth information about P&G and its brands. P&G is seeking a scientist to join the bioinformatics team in analyzing and interpreting large-scale high-content datasets (e.g., gene chip expression profiling, whole genome sequences, proteomics, metabonomics). The candidate would work directly with project biologists and statisticians in both Global Biotechnology and supporting Business Units to: 1) design biological experiments, 2) develop and execute data analysis strategies, and 3) interpret the data to meet specific business goals. The ideal candidate will have exceptional "domain expertise" in relevant areas of epithelial biology (e.g., skin aging; barrier function). He/she will be responsible for applying this domain expertise together with established informatics tools to analyze largescale, complex datasets. The job requires excellent skills in working with project biologists to understand their business needs, meeting their needs via application of appropriate existing software tools, and clearly communicating the findings. Job Responsibilities: Application of established epithelial biology domain expertise to analysis and interpretation of high content datasets. This task will require some familiarity/experience with standard bioinformatic computer tools; simple coding skills are also desired. This position is focused upon data analysis and interpretation (rather than generation of experimental data), so the successful candidate will have a demonstrated passion for data mining and identification of novel insights. Identification of novel biological targets in support of technology discovery; claims and credentialing for the same. Job Requirements: The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of effective collaboration in a team environment. Demonstrates ability to seek and apply new knowledge personally, and to develop knowledge and capability in others. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to understand, appreciate and respond to customer needs – converting these insights into actions that help drive research programs. Operates with discipline by developing clear plans for action in analysis and interpretation of customer datasets, and following through to deliver exceptional results.
