Job Description:
Applications are invited from outstanding bioinformaticians who want to commit themselves to joining the dynamic team in the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) at Imperial for focused exploration of the earliest stages of Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative diseases of aging.

We are particularly seeking candidates with interests in transcriptomics and gene regulatory network analyses. While the UK DRI at Imperial has a primary focus on understanding molecular mechanisms of glial-neuronal interactions in Alzheimer’s disease, a broader range of research interests could be accommodated. Funding for the post is based on long term support at Imperial as a UK Dementia Research Institute Centre and a generous donation from the Edmond J Safra Foundation and Lily Safra.

This post is intended to provide a major career development opportunity for the right individual. We are ideally seeking candidates able to use the role as a transition to establishing an independent research career. To enable this, the post holder will be strongly supported both to work collaboratively within the UK DRI and to lead on projects within their own areas of research interest.

Over the longer term, development of an innovative, independent research programme within the UK DRI will be encouraged, as will preparation of new applications for research funding. Opportunities for the supervision of trainees in bioinformatics and for teaching will be available.

This post is based at the Hammersmith Campus and is full-time, fixed term for three years.
