Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Scientific Instrument Network Security Intern to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a permanent, full-time position with MSC and it is on-site in Bethesda, Maryland. Duties and Responsibilities: -Work with the Scientific Instrument Controller Support Lead to identify, label, and document requirements of scientific computer equipment in use at the NIH. -Follow standard operating procedures to support Windows. Linux, and Mac systems associated with scientific equipment. -Help with scientific hardware and software testing as required. -Assist with networking and connectivity requirements for scientific instrument controllers. -Participate in special projects as assigned. Position Requirements: -High school diploma -Currently pursuing a college degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other scientific or technical discipline -Knowledge of scientific equipment as well as PCs and Macs; lab experience preferred -Skilled in troubleshooting hardware and software issues -Self-starter who works well in a team environment -Excellent organization skills and high attention to detail -Desire to learn and ability to follow instructions, seek guidance, and take direction -Strong communication skills; ability to listen carefully and ask good questions
