Job Description:
Foundation Medicine is dedicated to helping bring personalized cancer medicine into routine clinical practice. Harnessing advanced technology, Foundation Medicine is developing clinical laboratory tests that will broadly capture the most relevant tumor genomic and other molecular information in a single test, and connect it with relevant scientific and medical knowledge to help oncologists determine the right treatment for each patient.
The Project Manager will manage workstreams related to software development for Foundation Medicine’s computational pipeline. Working closely with scientists on the R&D team and engineers on the computational biology team, the emphasis for this position is to lead the development timelines and ensure timely completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
Creates and manages project plans to track the progress of projects for the Biomarker Development team.
Manage and track software documentation.
Facilitate the execution of projects based on priorities established by the department leadership and company goals.
Ensure that projects are well defined, clearly documented, and adhere to industry and FMI processes and standards.
Schedules meetings with internal teams.
Creates, communicates and follows up on action items and key deliverables through their closure/completion.
Generates/tracks milestones and metrics; evaluates project issues, delays and problems.
Ensures timely documentation and communication of decisions and updates on timelines and deliverables.
Qualifications:
A minimum of three years’ project management experience in Life Sciences
General knowledge of programming language desirable (Python preferable)
Demonstrated ability to manage complex collaborative projects and cross-functional teams
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics or other quantitative field
