Job Description:
To strengthen our Next Generation Sequencing team in Berlin, we‘re urgently seeking fixed-term for 1 year a full-time Bioinformatician Next Generation Sequencing (m/f)Your tasks: Statistical analysis of high throughput DNA sequencing data for customized sequencing projects Development of tools and pipelines for automatic analysis of sequencing data Documentation of customer projects and developed pipelines Consult customers and colleagues on project design and data interpretation. Your professional qualities: A degree in bioinformatics, genetics, molecular biology or a related field Knowledge of molecular biology, especially DNA sequencing A good command of standard MS Office applications and Linux Knowledge of methods and algorithms for NGS data analysis Experience in working with Python, R and general shell scripting Experience in applied metagenomics analysis (shotgun or amplicon-based) being an advantage Excellent organisational skills and a conscientious approach Fluent written and spoken German and English Initiative and commitment, team spirit, the ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and assignments. Your personal qualities: An ability to differentiate between the vital and the important: a rare art! Developing efficient solutions with analytical skill: a crucial ability! Documenting your daily work with accuracy and care: a necessary prerequisite! Giving 110 % in a qualified, relaxed environment: committed performance!
