The Genetics & Genomics group is seeking a Scientist I or Scientist II to join an interdisciplinary team of scientists engaged in translational research. The successful candidate will participate on the statistical design and analysis of human genetic studies with an emphasis on next generation sequencing and genome-wide association studies. The candidate should have a solid foundation in statistics and genetics, a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and an openness to work on highly collaborative teams. The position requires excellent written and oral communication skills allowing the preparation of effective reports, presentations and manuscripts. The position offers the opportunity to interact with research biologists, clinicians and computational scientists on complex datasets incorporating genetic, genomic and clinical data. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated scientist who wishes to apply the results of genetics and genomics investigation to support the discovery of novel medicines.

Qualifications- 2-5 years of Experience
Knowledge of experimental design principles
Management of large genetic studies
Statistical software (R/MATLAB/SAS)
Programming skills (C++/C/Perl/Python/Shell)
Knowledge of statistical genetics software ( PLINK/MaCH/IMPUTE2/METAL/GWAMA/etc.)
Knowledge and experience with database management software
Knowledge of next generation sequencing read mapping (bwa)
Knowledge of next generation sequencing variant calling (samtools/GATK)
Knowledge of next generation sequencing statistical analysis (PLINK/SEQ)
Desired Skills
Evidence of good verbal and written communication via presentations and publication in peer review journals
Good understanding of genetic and genomic data generation methods
