Job Description:
-Collaborate with Molecular Biologists, Bioinformatic Specialists, and Translational Scientists in an R&D environment with a focus on application development. -Work closely with Bioinformatics software engineering teams to optimize and deliver analytical workflows which will be included in customer facing software releases. -Gather plug-in requirements, develop test plans, and develop and deploy plug-in modules to support applications. -Test and Validate launched RNASeq related plugins and Ion Reporter workflows using standardinzed datasets/parameters for updated builds of Ion Reporter and Torrent Suite software. -Develop new plug-in software modules for analysis of RNAseq data on internal platforms that analyze sequencing data, collect results, and prepare HTML reports. -Conduct analysis of next-generation sequencing and applications of sequencing regarding personalized medicine and human health. -Develop data analysis strategies and design assays via targeted sequencing. -Develop and present prototype pipelines for use in NGS related product development. Required Skills: -Comfortable working with large, multi-dimentional datasets. -Knowledge of sequence analysis techniques especially variant detection and annotation. -Knowledge of basic statistical methodologies. -R, Python, and or other scripting languages. -Excellent communication skills are critical. -Proactively interact with software development colleagues. -Knowledge of C++, Java, SQL and basic database architecture a plus. -Experience with data visualization techniques a plus.
