Job Description:
Architect and design different algorithms and applications that are standards-based and which integrate into the offerings of Theranos.
Determine and implement technology combinations to solve specific business problems.
Develop extensible, scalable, and reliable software.
Communicate interdepartmentally to define interfaces and understand dependencies.
Write detailed technical documents.
Understand and affect the product direction.
REQUIREMENTS
Master's or Ph.D in Computer Science, Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related discipline from a top tier technical university and superior academic credentials.
Machine learning and data mining experience required. Specifically, in the areas of data-driven modeling, pattern recognition, time-series analysis, support vector machines, collaborative filtering, relevance diagrams and Bayesian/Markov networks, clustering, classification, regression, probability theory, neural networks, dynamic programming, and data management systems.
Strong skills in statistical analysis of large quantities of scientific measurement data, deep knowledge of relevant metrics for real-time systems, and a good understanding of data mining techniques.
Structured thinker and effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with dynamic teams.
Familiarity and experience in different phases of the software development life cycle.
Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, optimization techniques, and object-oriented programming.
Excellent programming skills in Java, C/C++, PERL, Matlab, R, and SQL in a UNIX/Linux environment.
Strong skills in algorithms and working with large volumes of data.
Experience with database access methodologies.
Exposure to pharmaceutical/medical/clinical data is a plus.
Knowledge and experience with Hadoop is a plus.
