The Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) at the Baylor College of Medicine is currently seeking a Senior Programmer with five or more years of software development experience to design and develop clinical and research applications utilizing established architecture, standard design patterns and coding practices. Skills and Experience:
- 5 or more years of hands on software development experience preferred.
- Experience developing web applications with Java, JavaScript, JSON, HTML, CSS, AJAX and JavaScript Libraries preferred.
- Experience with Node JS preferred.
- Experience with Java preferred.
- Experience with relational databases preferred.
- Experience with developing RESTful web services preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Bioinformatics/Genomics application development preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
- Ability to develop multi-tier scalable, robust and reliable applications that operate 24x7.
- Ability to build web applications and services, working with relevant tools.
- Good communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work in an agile/iterative development team.
- Technology environment: Java, NodeJS, Hibernate, jQuery, mySQL/Oracle, Perl, Python, Tomcat, UNIX/LINUX, Archiva, Maven, SVN, RESTful services.
- 5 or more years of hands on software development experience preferred.
- Experience developing web applications with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, JSON, AJAX and general Web 2.0 techniques
- Experience with Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular, Ember, Dojo, Node etc.)
- Experience with Java/J2EE architecture & development preferred.
