Key Duties And Responsibilities: We are currently looking for a Senior Bioinformatician to join a leading company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Senior Bioinformatician you will be responsible for: Your duties as the Senior Bioinformatician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- You will develop and run methods, metrics, and pipelines for the automatic functional annotation of genomic and microbiome data
- As the Senior Bioinformatician you will develop tools and databases to integrate and compare large data sets
- You will also develop and implement new statistical machine-learning methods to improve the informatics platform
- As the Senior Bioinformatician you will need to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary projects to perform end-to-end analysis towards therapeutic discovery and development
- A PhD or Masters in Bioinformatics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience may also be considered
- Proven industry experience in microbial genomics or metagenomics
- A proficiency and practical experience with programming languages such as Python or Perl
