Job Description:
We are now seeking to fill a new role in our expanding Geneious Biologics team:

  • A Senior Biologics Application Scientist with deep knowledge in bioinformatics, immunology and drug discovery.
  • Based on the West Coast of the United States providing coverage across North America with an emphasis on the West Coast and Northeast.
  • Self organized with extraordinary communication skills.
  • Reporting directly to the VP of Biologics.
The successful candidate will work closely with customer account managers to develop strategic sales, management and growth of customer accounts for our Geneious Biologics software, with a primary focus on understanding customers’ scientific and technical needs and delivering sound scientific presentation of our solutions.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain domain and informatics knowledge in all areas where our solutions are applicable, with an initial focus on informatics for biologic drug development.
  • Act as field application scientist with a primary focus on Geneious Biologics.
  • Develop thorough understanding of customer needs, record requirements and relay back information to key interactions at Biomatters.
  • Act as single point of contact for technical solutions with select customers.
  • Assist sales teams with technical knowledge with primary focus on Geneious Biologics.
  • Assist in implementation of novel and customised bioinformatics workflows for high-value customers.
  • Provide a point of in-market escalation and local technical support for important customers and/or major issues.
  • Participate in agile development processes, tackling tasks and priorities as agreed with other members of the Geneious Biologics team.
  • Gather market intelligence and relay back to other members of the Geneious Biologics team.
  • Other tasks from time-to-time, as required.
Requirements and Key Skills:

With a focus on customer-centric selling, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to work with prospective clients to understand their needs and deliver our solutions to meet those needs. They will need superior project management skills to manage and build our customer relationships to an unprecedented level.

  • Masters or PhD degree in molecular biology, bioinformatics or other relevant domain.
  • 5+ years of enterprise sales experience selling bioinformatics software
  • Proven experience with computational biology and bioinformatics tools.
  • Knowledge about wet-laboratory methods and applications in drug discovery.
  • Knowledge about immunology and biologics.
  • Self-motivated to achieve above-average outcomes.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively, as appropriate, on varied projects in a commercial environment.
  • High personal integrity and commitment to team and company.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability and desire to learn new technical skills, irrespective of corporate imperatives.
  • Willingness to increase effort on a short-term basis, commensurate with looming deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm to think outside-the-box.
  • Drive to succeed.
  • Ability to travel as necessary, up to 50% of the time.
