Present findings to audiences of diverse skill sets and document programming and validation projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developnovel approaches to addressing complex problems in NGS data analysis (e.g.circulating tumor DNA variant calling, immune-oncology, etc.)
- Performdetailed and custom next generation sequencinganalysis tasks.This can includeefficient scripts for data formatting/processing andrepresenting data inmathematical software.
- Expertisein working with clients for hypothesiselucidation and testing.Experiencein experimental design, fixed and random effects modelingand working,correlated data (e.g. time series, survival, etc.),dimension reductiontechniques (e.g. PCA, SVD, LDA, etc.) and datamining / model selectionmethods (e.g. neural networks, LASSO,etc.).
- Knowledgeof statistical analysis ofclinical trials.
- Extensiveexperience using classification andprediction modeling of real worlddata. This includes both benchmarking third party software andthedevelopment of novel algorithms.
- Developprogramming documentation including plans andspecifications, asappropriate.
- Scopeand estimate resources, then execute on theanalysis of clientprojects.
- Provideadvanced technical expertise in conjunctionwith internal andexternal clients, and independently bring projectsolutions to teamsand department.
- Performand plan the development, implementation andvalidation of newproduct technologies and applications.
- Leaddepartment and/or cross-functional project teamstackling differentinitiatives.
- Providetraining and guidance to new staff.
- Strongfoundational knowledge in Linux/UNIX-basedsystems as well as HW-S/Winterfaces, storage, networking
- Strong proficiency with at least one scripting language(Python, Perl, Bash, etc). Readily able to discusscommon packages and functions(eg pandas, pysam, DESeq2) within abioinformatic workflow. Experience with object-oriented programming andhigh performance programming(Java, C++) is a plus.
- Strongknowledge of the statistical language R. Other languages such as SASand/or SQL are a plus.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership andcommunication skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects
- Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Abilityto establish and maintain effective workingrelationships withcoworkers, managers and clients
- Extensiveuse of keyboard requiring repetitive motionof fingers
- Regularsitting for extended periods of time
- Occasionaltravel (<5-10% of the time)
