Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Computational Biologist/Bioinformatics Scientist to provide technical expertise in analysis of high-throughput data associated with the development of new molecular monitoring products. This highly-skilled individual will work within a multidisciplinary product development team to develop and maintain computational tools for processing and interpreting experimental data from NGS and additional platforms in support of a new product development program.

Responsibilities:

-Work within an interdisciplinary team of molecular biologists, computational biologists and software engineers focused on developing new diagnostic products using massively parallel sequencing of tumor genomic DNA and RNA.

-Lead the development of new methods and algorithms to identify characterize and monitor alterations in tumor DNA and RNA derived from clinical cancer specimens.

-Implement analytical tools capable of troubleshooting and accelerating the development of new molecular methods.

-Work with the production team to develop scalable protocols that enable parallel interpretation of sequencing data at high scale and throughput.

-Process, analyze and interpret high volumes of data as part of internal and external scientific studies. Develop automated methods and software to support large-scale bioinformatics analysis.

-Monitor and evaluate analytical aspects of new and emerging technologies (sequencing and others).

-Present scientific and technical data to both internal and external scientific colleagues in a clear and cohesive manner.

-Work independently and prepare timetables, deliverables, and project schedules.

Qualifications:

-Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related fields with 5+ years of industry experience. Equivalent post-doctoral experience will be considered.

-Fluency in programming and scripting languages is required (C++, Java, Python).

-Experience in developing algorithms for analysis of biological data. Experience in algorithm development for analysis of massively parallel sequencing data (DNA-seq, RNA-seq) is highly desirable.

-Experience in cancer research, including a working understanding of computation approaches for cancer genome analysis, is highly desirable.

-Strong scientific understanding of molecular biology and genomics.

-Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, dynamic and results-oriented startup environment.

-Ability to present data to a multidisciplinary audience in a clear and cohesive manner.

-Excellent teamwork, time management and organizational skills.
