The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for researching, prototyping, and developing Reflektive’s core data science and analytics capabilities. The goal is to leverage the unique, rich data set generated by Reflektive’s technology platform in order to generate actionable information for its customers. The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for researching, prototyping, and developing Reflektive’s core data science and analytics capabilities. The goal is to leverage the unique, rich data set generated by Reflektive’s technology platform in order to generate actionable information for its customers. These insights will be incorporated back into Reflektive’s product suite to drive core business value. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate Reflektive’s data resources and map out possible science projects
- Build Reflektive’s initial core data science technology
- Work closely with the Data Engineering and Development Teams to develop, implement, productionize, scale, and deploy that technology
- Interface with Product and Engineering Teams as needed to incorporate analytics output into the product suite
- Lead the Natural Language Processing (NLP) development efforts on the data science team
- In 30 days, you will have built a deep understanding of Reflektive’s existing products and data sets, and explored one or more NLP analyses on Reflektive’s RealtimeFeedback (RTF) data
- In 60 days, you will be deep into architecting the prototype for NLP analysis of the RTF data
- In 90 days, you will have deployed the first NLP analysis and working with the Product Team to incorporate them into a customer-facing product
- PhD in Applied Math, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, BioInformatics, Computational Linguistics, or similar; Alternatively, MA or MS in similar field, with 2+ years industry experience
- Python programming: 2+ years experience
- SQL: 2+ years
- Machine Learning algorithms: supervised and unsupervised techniques
- Natural Language Processing (e.g., TF-IDF, topic models, word embeddings/word2vec)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done
- Willingness to learn and do whatever it takes to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Network analysis / social graph analysis
- Experience using NLP for a long-term, deployed project
- Experience with project collaboration tools (git, JIRA, etc.)
