Job Description:
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Primary Initial Teacher Training to join our Education Department. This post provides an exciting opportunity to join a forward-looking department with a longstanding reputation for excellence. Working in close partnership with over 400 schools, the Department offers undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education for HEI led and School Direct routes. Our primary programmes are well established and have an outstanding profile of student outcomes.
The post is suitable for experienced primary teachers and/or someone who has experience in Initial Teacher Training in Higher Education Institutions, SCITTs or similar organisations. Experience of supporting trainees in school, and awareness of current developments in the field of Initial Teacher Training are also important aspects of the role.
For this post you will have specialist expertise in primary mathematics. You will join an enthusiastic and highly successful team and play a central role in teaching on our popular Primary programmes. As well as teaching mathematics the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to humanities, Professional Studies and School Based Training across the primary programmes.
