PPD Development, L.P. is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst (Bioinformatics) in Austin, TX. Job Duties: Conduct research using bioinformatics theory and methods in areas such as pharmaceuticals, medical technology, biotechnology, computer information science, biology and medical informatics. Consult with researchers and multi-disciplinary project teams to analyze problems and recommend technology-based solutions and computational strategies. Create novel computational approaches and analytical tools as required by research goals. Design databases and bioinformatics algorithms for processing, validating, and analyzing research data. Communicate results through project reports, and prepare data and companion guidance documents for submission to regulatory authorities. Act in a programming lead role on complex studies by representing the Biostatistics department within the company or client. Can work remotely. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or as a Programmer Analyst or related role. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or as a Programmer Analyst or related role in lieu of a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience. Experience must include: analytical software including programming in SAS; database management systems; relational databases; and MS Excel.
