Responsibilities: • Design, oversee, and perform molecular and biochemical experiments. Experimental aspects of this role will include routine and in some instances more complex molecular biology and biochemical methods (PCR, Western blotting, laser capture microdissection, 2-D gel electrophoresis, cell culture, etc.). • Oversee high risk experimental endeavors within the lab that may include establishment of organoid culture systems, high throughput drug screens, cell culture, and proteomics experiments. • Active involvement in data analysis including use of bioinformatics approaches for omic datasets. • Review project progress and results; recommend change to procedure/process to lab head. • Create appropriate statistical presentations, including graphs and charts for the purpose of reporting research lab results. • Keep abreast of pertinent scientific literature in the field in order to recommend new process/procedure as needed within the Precision Pathology Biobanking Center. • Develop, maintain, and suggest improvements for editorial document management systems to ensure version control and tracking of manuscripts, abstracts, multi-authored papers, and other documents. • Collaborate with other members of the Center towards future clinical certification of the lab. • Write abstracts, summaries, introductions, letters, project documentation, foundation reports, patient questionnaires or other documents when required by project or requested by the Director of Precision Pathology Biobanking Center. • Submit or assist with submission of abstracts, manuscripts, and clinical test development submissions. • Be actively involved in research grant writing. • Write editorial documentation and other editorial-communication documents with attention to specific audience readability. Qualifications: • PhD and/or MD degree with solid training in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields with strong track record of published own scientific work. • Experience with omic data generation and analysis desirable (next gen sequencing, proteomics, mass spec). • Experience with cell culture, animal handling, mouse models, etc. desirable. • Must be able to present, write, and communicate clearly.
