Job Description:
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Research Associate 1. This position is based in Dr. Mingjiang Xu's laboratory which focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of hematopoietic malignancies. The Senior Research Associate 1 will be involved in the study of several projects. Specifically, the Senior Research Associate 1 will analyze all of the next generation sequencing (NGS) data involved in these projects. These include the analyses of RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, 5mC/5hmC profiling data and the integration of these data sets. The Senior Research Associate 1 is expected to generate the figures from the NGS data in communication with other laboratory members. Other techniques include ChIP, qPCR, bisulfate sequencing analyses. This position will also be responsible for preparation of the data files needed to submit to the GEO.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:

Master's Degree in a life science field of study as well as some research experience gained during education/training or in employment in a research position. Prefer individuals with some research experience in bioinformatics and NGS data analysis.
