Job Description:
The Englander Institute for Precision Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking for a highly-motivated senior research associate in computational biomedicine with a background in cancer biology or a related field to join our team. We are seeking for a dynamic individual who will be responsible for the design, development and execution of the infrastructure and framework to support both the clinical and research activities at the Joint Clinical Genomics Initiative and the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine.

The work will be performed under the supervision of Dr. Olivier Elemento, Associate Professor of and Director, Englander Institute for Precision Medicine. The candidate will work within an integrated, multidisciplinary team composed of basic scientists, computational biologists, pathologists, and medical oncologists, with significant resources for bioinformatics support and studies in human tissues.

More specifically, as a Senior Research Associate in Dr. Elemento’s lab the candidate is expected to lead the development of the virtual/augmented/mixed reality solutions for precision medicine; oversee the design, development, and deployment of containerized solutions for precision medicine; laboratory information management systems and robotic liquid handling systems, including QC/QA tools; data analysis and integration of high throughput genomic data to EHR systems; coordinate the development of artificial intelligence tools to augment the precision medicine knowledgebase and the case review and sign out process. A desire to develop and implement new methodologies is highly advantageous.

The candidate must have earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, have a strong previous research experience of five years minimum and hold a strong publication record. Furthermore, excellent programming skills are expected and experience with NGS data analysis on a HIPAA compliant platform is highly desirable. The candidate should be innovative, independent and able to work in a team and have good communication skills. Collaboration and contribution to peer reviewed articles relating to precision medicine experience required.
