The School of Life Sciences is at the forefront of research in the biological sciences in the UK, coming in the top 10 in the REF 2014.
We are seeking a senior research fellow to work on a project in the laboratory of Dr Giorgios Giamas, being established at the University of Sussex.
The aim of the project is to identify new targets implicated in breast cancer development and progression and elucidate their exact mechanism of action. The main focus of the research will include cancer stem cell; tumour metabolism; kinase biology and systems biology.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques, as well as experience in cancer cell signalling research projects, and in FACS analysis, IF microscopy and IHC techniques. Experience of generating research income and supervision of PGR students will be an advantage.
