Job Description:
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, successful scientist who has proven experience in human genomics especially in silico analyses and bioinformatics. You will contribute to the research profile of the university in Human Genomics/Bioinformatics and support the delivery and management of related courses programmes. The project is to work with the EAGLE Consortia to data mine large genomic platforms. We have already achieved 4* publications from this platform in Nature Genetics and Lancet Oncology.

Expertise in research and strong publications in Human Genomics/Bioinformatics is a prerequisite. Additional experience of teaching in HE and in or related subjects would also be desirable. We have a flexible and innovative approach to research and teaching. With a good honours degree, in a relevant area you will hold a PhD, higher degree or near completion of a PhD in a related subject. Excellent communication, grant writing, publication preparation, presentation and networking skills are essential supported by the ability to show initiative and innovation. With expertise in bioinformatics, genomics and lab and in silico analyses, you will be committed to the University’s mission statement and vision.
