Job Description:

Job description

Identify prognostic, diagnostic, response, and safety markers using Phase 0, FIH, Phase II, Phase III and post-launch biomarker data from clinical trials. Develop and implement analyses strategies for patient stratification, drug positioning and predictive modeling using biomarker data and state of the art bioinformatics tools and techniques. Integrate multi-modal multi-analyte biomarker data from clinical trials and literature based evidence to understand disease pathogenesis and progression, drug MOA and response to therapies. Work closely with biologists and statisticians to design the right experiments, incorporate the right biomarkers in study protocols and frame the right questions to ask from biomarker and clinical data to generate testable hypotheses. Communicate analyses results and interpretations to complex matrix teams of biomarker leads, discovery biologists, statisticians, informaticians and clinicians. Work closely with biomarker leads and translational research teams to identify and address near-term and long-term bioinformatics needs for pre-clinical and clinical programs and work closely with core bioinformatics group to communicate these needs. Enhance and enable the biologists and biomarker leads to interact with biomarker data and analyses results.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ph.D. with at least 6 years relevant experience in biotech, pharma or academia.
  • Strong understanding of the disease biology in immunology.
  • Working experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferably in pre-clinical/clinical research. S
  • trong background in Omic (RNA, proteomic, epigenetic) data analysis and biological interpretation.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with biologists, bio statisticians and computational scientists.
  • Proficiency using R and Bioconductor packages, commercial bioinformatics tools (ArrayStudio, Partek), data visualization tools (Spotfire, Cytoscape), molecular pathway analysis tools (Metacore, IPA) and familiarity with commercial and publicly available biological databases (ArrayExpress/GEO, Oncomine, TCGA, 1000 Genomes etc.).
  • Familiarity with biostatistics and supervised and unsupervised analysis of Omic data.
  • Familiarity with integration of multi-modal multi-analyte biomarker data with clinical data and knowledge management platforms will be of additional value.
