Your Role:

You Role Will Include Several Components

Your role is very important to us. Clarivate Analytics is one of leading providers of bioinformatics products and services, and currently we are looking for a research scientist with deep understanding and broad experience in bioinformatics to manage our services projects, lead development of new technologies and services offerings, and work with clients to architect solutions according to their objectives .

Lead service research projects

You will work with our clients from pharmaceutical companies and clinical centers as well as non-profit organizations on advanced bioinformatics projects generating hypotheses on disease mechanisms, drug response biomarkers, and drug targets. In your projects, you will apply tools developed by key academia and industry research teams as well as our proprietary Bioinformatics Platform. The majority of our projects require diverse expertise and your role, as a project manager, will be to coordinate other bioinformatcians, biologists, and IT professionals involved in your projects.

Technology development

You will also develop new approaches and techniques to address complicated and interesting scientific questions, publish results of your research in scientific journals, and participate in the implementation of the approaches in working tools and commercial software.

Business and strategy development

In addition to research activities, you will also participate in business and strategy development by scoping with customers their scientific needs and transforming these needs into solutions.

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Statistical analysis, integration, annotation of OMICs data: microarray data, NGS data, proteomics data, metabolomics data and other types of high-throughput data.

-Experience with pathway and network analyses. Integration of multiple complementary OMICs data in the context of biological pathways and protein interaction networks. Experience with Ingenuity Pathways and MetaCore will be an advantage.

-Proficiency in statistical programming languages (R – required, MatLab – preferred), scripting languages (Perl, Python), database querying languages (SQL).

-Knowledge of molecular biology and human genetics is required; knowledge of normal and pathological signaling pathways is preferred.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct regular presentations and write scientific texts/articles.

-Self starter, able to set priorities and work independently Excellent problem-solving, organizational and creativity skills.

-Strong project management skills.

Experience:

PhD in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Systems Biology or a related field. A minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience in bioinformatics or computational biology in an academic or professional setting, preferably in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or consulting setting.
