Your challenge Do you bring a multi-year expertise in genomic analysis of microbial genome data in the field of infectious disease or infection control? The role of Senior Bioinformatics/Genomics Scientist can be your next career challenge! Your Responsibilities Key Areas Of Responsibility Include We are seeking an individual to join our Clinical Bioinformatics team. Develop/Implement algorithms and software for Next Generation Sequencing analysis of microbial genome data. Establish custom workflows/pipelines for automated analysis of NGS data and visualization of results. Work in a multidisciplinary environment of computer scientists, bioinformaticists, and clinicians to develop clinically relevant applications of Next Generation Sequencing in Infectious Diseases. We are looking for the following requirements The Successful Candidate Brings/has PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related quantitative field Expertise/knowledge in the one or more of following areas: Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genetics, Infectious Disease, and Infection Control 5+ years’ experience in efficient pipeline/workflow development for large next-generation sequencing data analysis Excellent programming skills in Python, Java, C/C++ and R or equivalents, and working knowledge of database technologies (e.g. SQL) Skills In addition, the following skills and experience would be highly desired Alignment, assembly, analysis of microbial genome sequencing data (Bowtie, MIRA, SPAdes, et al) Metagenomic analysis (SURPI, KRAKEN, LMAT, et al) Statistical methods/algorithm development for NGS data Experience with high performance cluster computing queuing systems such as SGE, Torque. Strong in database system internals, parallel processing, search, algorithms, GPU processing Clinical experience in infectious disease and infection control domain Strong communication skills in written and verbal English
