Job Description:
Interested in being a "genome detective"? We are seeking a self-motivated senior scientist to join our growing regenerative medicine research company. The ideal candidate will possess a keen intellect, immense curiosity, and superior knowledge of personalized genomics and the genetics of aging and age-related diseases including, but not limited to, atherosclerosis and vascular disease, cancer, and neurodegeneration. The candidate will be responsible for, among other things, in-depth analyses of whole genome, epigenetic, SNP and gene expression data to discover potential disease-associated traits and practical, actionable therapeutic targets for disease prevention and interventional therapy. General and working knowledge of aging biology, adult stem cells, and regenerative and personalized medicine are also desirable. Along with these qualities, the ideal candidate also will have: -MS, MD, PhD or MD/PhD in a biomedical science or bioinformatics -In-depth knowledge of personalized genomics, human genetics and age-related disease genetics -Extensive working knowledge of genomic, epigenetic, SNP and gene expression datasets -Experience with modern genome analysis software (e.g. Enlis™, Promethease, other genomic and NGS analysis software, online and open-source software) and bioinformatics databases (e.g. NCBI, EBI, Ensembl, dbSNP, COSMIC, etc) -Extensive programming experience and working knowledge of diverse programming languages -Demonstrated track record of highly practical and translational thinking -Strong ability to summarize and communicate complex genetic ideas quickly and effectively -Ability to work well in small group settings -Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Attention to detail and quality record-keeping -Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
