Job Description:
The Senior Software Automation Engineer, Quality Assurance will provide professional testing service and application lifecycle management to ensure that we ship high quality customer facing and internal use applications. Our engineering team delivers highly scalable, robust and data centric micro-services to support our enterprise applications. This position will be part of the engineering team to test and improve our clinic and patient portal as well and our finance and billing applications. The candidate should be able to transform business requirements into technical test strategy, testing plans and test cases in order to meet end-user’s expectations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Work closely with tech product managers to understand system requirements, and software engineers to understand system architecture. •Translate requirements into test plans and test cases which are implemented in an Agile manner. •Build regression tests and integrate them into our build/release automated testing process. •Identify and build system integration tests, as well as service-level tests which increase the robustness of our system. •Work closely with other engineers to correctly scope and execute manual and automated testing. •Conduct quantitative impact analysis on system changes, analyze risks and mitigation approaches. •Communicate testing requirements, status, issues and risks with stakeholders. •Collaborate, influence, and support remote testing teams to provide corresponding QA environments and deliverables and drive specific quality outcomes. •Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements. •Employee must pass post offer criminal background check. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: •B.S. or higher in Computing Science, or equivalent work experience •Demonstrated teamwork skills with a solid analytical background •Proficiency in Ruby, Java, or Python computer languages •Unix fundamentals •Experience with building automation frameworks with Junit, Selenium •Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development •Experience testing REST API endpoints. •Experience with application testing and corresponding tools such as Selenium •Familiarity with SQL •Quality focused mindset KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: •Good communication skills and show pride and ownership of work and help others achieve the same •Experience building testing frameworks •Experience automating testing as part of build and release process •Experience with Agile development •Experience with software build, change management, release and deployment systems •Be able to balance quality outcomes with product timelines PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: •This position requires on-site presence in order to effectively communicate across the organization •This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material •Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) at times
