Job Description:
At Synthetic Genomics, Inc., we are dedicated to developing and commercializing genomic-driven solutions to address global challenges. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-growing, dynamic and collaborative team in La Jolla, CA.
The successful candidate will play a large role in our distributed software efforts and will be in charge of micro-services integration within our current platform. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing new distributed processing services for reliability, performance and scale. You will also collaborate with our bioinformatics team to deliver the best possible end-user experience.
Required Skills
-RESTful API design and implementation
- Web programming using Django framework
- Must be strong in your understanding of microservice architectures
- Experience using Web APIs and developing RESTful APIs Experience using revision control systems such as Git
- Test driven development
- You must be proficient with at least one AMQP technology (RabbitMQ/ZeroMQ etc)
Desirable Skills:
- Extensive experience with AWS
- Experience with Docker Required
Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and at least 2 years of professional full time developer experience.
- Experience developing within Linux/Unix environments. 6+ years of software engineering using Python, C/C++ or a comparable programming language.
- Professional background related to designing backend software systems.
- Demonstrated the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Comfortable with high degrees of freedom and responsibility. IND123
