Job Description:
As part of this team we are hiring a Systems Architect/Senior Systems Architect to assist in the development of computational infrastructure to process whole genome sequencing data in a clinical environment. The incumbent will be working with researchers at UMCCR and colleagues across the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct to understand the UMCCR’s current and future needs and help build solutions for large-scale data storage, processing and dissemination. This position works closely with a local team of software engineers and commercial partners to support the development of modern sequence analysis frameworks, deploying them locally or in a cloud-based environment. It is expected that the data manipulation and management systems will need to be scaled to match the increasing volumes of biomedical data, providing a challenging and rewarding environment for the appropriate applicant.

Closing date: March 16th, 2017
