Job Description:
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a highly regarded non-profit organization focused on curing CF, is seeking a Head of Bioinformatics. The position will be at the Foundation’s growing R&D laboratory in Lexington, MA. The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field and 4+ years experience in designing, running, and overseeing various DNA and RNA NGS assays. The Head of Bioinformatics will oversee several independent, but related, activities at the Lexington laboratory, and is expected to build a small productive team. The work will include DNA sequencing and resulting data analysis as required for ongoing projects in gene-editing and stem cell model development, single-cell RNA SEQ, ribosome profiling experiments, as well as occasional whole genome sequencing. The bioinformatics team is also expected to help with other bioinformatics needs of the lab, e.g. automation of data analysis from various in house assays.
