Job Description:
The Software Architect will work closely with fellow engineers and architects to build and maintain the data warehouse and business intelligence systems for large scale, high performance, and rock-solid reliability. This is a hands-on position that will require performing system design and development activities for the exciting and dynamic medical fields.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and creating systems for transforming data from disparate sources for Business Intelligence and data warehousing.
  • Responsible for designing and creating systems that leverage BI and data warehousing technologies.
  • Work with business analysts and engineers in analyzing business requirements.
  • Work with engineering and product teams distributed across multiple locations.
  • Effectively document and communicate results
  • Stay up to date on current trends in big data analytics and healthcare
  • Continuously improving processes and establishing best practices around development standards, version control, quality control, deployment, maintenance and change management
  • Other duties as required by business conditions or as assigned
Essential Education, Experience and Interests:
  • Strong technical leadership skills and willing to mentor junior members.
  • Strong track-record of successfully building robust systems through full lifecycle following repeatable, reliable and measurable processes.
  • Good understanding of healthcare technology and industry and able to make decisions on the best technology for MedeAnalytics Softwares.
  • Excellent interpersonal (both oral and written) communication skills combined with a successful history of working with different cultures and directly with clients.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated and quick-learner.
  • Must possess knowledge and experience with SQL Server or HP Vertica, SSRS, SSAS or Pentaho Mondrian.
  • Proficient in ETL and hands-on experience with one of the ETL tools (like SSIS, Kettle or Talend). Must be able to construct and troubleshoot very complex queries and handling data warehouse activities (Data transfer, import/export, storage, performance and security).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Good interpersonal (both oral and written) communication skills.
  • Technical degree (Bachelors of Science, Computer Science, BioInformatics or equivalent) strongly desired; advanced degree (MS) a plus.
Desired Experience:
  • Experience in working with MS SSAS
  • Experience in working with Pentaho Mondrian
  • Experience in Scrum methodology
  • SaaS or cloud software development experience
Special Requirements:
  • Based in Emeryville, CA
  • Travel required: approximately 10%
