The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated team player and interested in learning new technologies and tools. Main Responsibilities:
- Identify, propose, analyze, and review system-level requirements.
- Translate system requirements and customer needs into quality technical solutions.
- Implement the systems through interactive iterations.
- Evolve the systems through continuous enhancements.
- Apply software engineering best practices to the daily work including proper code standards, testing, and release procedures.
- Assist project managers with scheduling, estimating and resource allocation.
- Contribute to publications and presentations of ongoing research activities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
- Two or more years’ experience in software development on medium to large projects.
- Advanced programming skills in Java or C++.
- Strong analytical and technical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to master and apply new technologies quickly.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Oriented toward collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Tomcat, RESTful web services, Spring, Hibernate
- Cloud Computing, Hadoop, and Big Data
- Experience designing and developing multi-tier Web service applications using Java for the business tier and AJAX for the presentation tier
- GUI development experience with HTML, CSS, XML, and AJAX. Ember and jQuery a plus.
- Experience with Semantic Web technologies, including OWL, RDF, and SPARQL.
- Experience with healthcare data standards (CDISC, HL7, DICOM), genetics data formats, and genetics data analysis.
