Job Description:
Ariadne seeks a Software Developer- Tooling to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is permanent, full-time, and it is on site in Bethesda/Rockville, MD. Duties and Responsibilities: -Assist in the architecture, construction, and ongoing maintenance of application development support platforms such as GIT, STASH, SVN -Will assist in the management of infrastructure applications such as Apache Web Server, ColdFusion Server, Tomcat, and JBOSS -Assist in the Installation and configuration of custom and COTS software packages -Translate development team requirements into Application/System configuration -Constantly evaluate and improve current processes or design and implement new processes to meet business needs -Use their Application Platform knowledge to isolate and fix application problems Position Requirements: -Masters Degree in Computer Science or 2-3 Years Experience -Working knowledge on UNIX/Linux Environment -Programming Experience (at least one language (Java, C, C++, .net ), preferably Java -Strong Scripting Skills in Bash/Perl* (sh/ksh/csh/tcsh) -Basic Apache Configuration -Basic Tomcat/JBOSS Configuration -Strong Troubleshooting skills Highly Preferred: -GIT or SVN -Maven, Ant -Configuration Management tools like Fisheye, Crucible, Jira, Bamboo, Stash or their open source equivalents. -Knowledge of Configuration Management principles. Additional Valued Skills: -BigIP F5 Load balancing Software or equivalent Global and Local Traffic Management Appliances -Knowledge of Virtual Machine Hosting Environments such as VMware or VirtualBox -Knowledge of multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, Linux, etc.).
