Some Problem Spaces We'll Be Working On ADVERTISING PERFORMANCE: Measure performance of advertising campaigns most relevant to the advertiser's goals by evaluating billions of impressions/interactions/conversions/ with mathematical models. Unlike any other advertising platform, we build data platforms that leverage the wealth of shopping insights to improve performance of marketing campaigns. Our vision is to make advertising performance measurement self-service for all advertisers and agencies. LIFT ANALYSIS: Knowing that a customer purchased a product after seeing an ad does not necessarily imply that the customer's behavior was changed by seeing the ad. Teasing apart causation from correlation is difficult at its best, and seemingly impossible at worst, but we know that seemingly impossible problems are just opportunities awaiting creative solutions. We use the latest machine learning algorithms to identify the precise value of advertising. • online distributed systems and platform infrastructure design and implementation
• big-data projects using hadoop, pig, hive, and other open-source tools/technologies

• experience in the advertising, algorithmic search, or bioinformatics industries

• experience implementing services using Java or C++ in a Linux/Unix environment
• experience with Agile (SCRUM, RUP, XP), OO modeling, web services, UNIX, middleware, database and data mining systems
• sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills
• track record of delivery
• 5+ years of industry experience

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, Math, Physics or related field
• Experience in Java or C++,
• Object Oriented Design and familiarity with application and database programming under UNIX/Linux.

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Math or related field
• 10+ years of industry experience
• Experience in big-data using hadoop, hive, and other open-source tools/technologies
• Experience using machine learning algorithms and approaches
• Experience in data visualization software or general UI experience
