Job Description:
Human Longevity, Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer to work cross-functionally with DevOps, Software Quality and Data Engineering to manage, support and optimize the systems delivering big data for one of the largest whole genome sequencing facilities in the world. Tasks and Responsibilities: The Software Engineer will be responsible for the support, debugging, development, testing and implementation of software related to HLI's core platform technology. The candidate will interact not only with other team members in supporting and building different components of the system, but also with scientists, bioinformaticians and non-engineers. The candidate must be conscientious, detail oriented and be dedicated to seeing tasks through to completion. Above all the candidate must have a passion for learning and technology. Minimum Qualifications (Must Have):
- 10+ Years of software development experience
- B.S. in relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Solid experience with cloud programming and architectures (AWS, Azure)
- DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, SWF, etc.
- C#, Scala, Java or other Object Oriented languages
- Python, JavaScript, or other Dynamic languages
- Solid understanding of good programming practices, architecture, design patterns and unit testing
- Excellent communication skills required
- Experience automating systems and processes (deployments, integration testing, migrations, etc.)
- Linux experience
- Bioinformatics experience
- Open office environment
- Global environment with multiple sites, which may require work beyond standard business hours
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending and kneeling
- Must be able to lift and transport at least 25 pounds
