Job Description:
We are recruiting software developers on both back-end and front-end of web-based applications for bioinformatics research. Initially, this position will join the development team for these ongoing projects:

Back-end developers:

- BioThings Project (http://biothings.io) - Build a collection of high-performance APIs for large-scale biological data, and an SDK to help developers to build such APIs

Front-end developers

- BioGPS project (http://biogps.org) - Build modern and user-friendly web applications for biological researchers to access distributed biological knowledge and data.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* A Bachelor and above degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or related field

* Proven experience developing robust software in an industry or academic environment

* Solid skills in client-side Javascript programming (for front-end developers)

* Solid skills with Python as the server-side language (for back-end developers)

* Experience with HTML5, CSS and other web technologies

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with popular Javascript frameworks like AngularJS, ReactJS or VueJS

* Experience with Python web frameworks like Tornado, Flask or Django

* Experiece with noSQL databases, like MongoDB, ElasticSearch

* Experience with popular Cloud infrastructure like Amazon AWS

* Basic understanding of biology
