Seeking a software engineer ready to use their Big Data and algorithm expertise to work in a cross functional team to develop clinical-grade software for next-generation sequencing (NGS). Your work will support new medical technologies that will protect lives and improve patient outcomes across the world. Responsibilities:
- Work with cross-functional teams to create clinical products based on complex bioinformatics algorithms and next-generation sequencing (NGS) pipelines.
- Work with bioinformatics scientists and software engineers to integrate bioinformatics components into a Docker-based data processing pipeline (C#, Python).
- Write software design specifications.
- Partner with software testers and domain experts in designing, performing, and improving verification of existing software.
- Develop and execute automated unit, functional and integration tests.
- Follow and advocate Software Development Life Cycle procedures.
- Minimum 5 years industry experience
- Expertise developing in Linux environment
- Expertise with big data processing (NGS data preferred)
- Parallel data processing
- Algorithm development experience with object-oriented languages such as C# (preferred), C++ or Java.
- Detail-oriented fast learner with strong sense of ownership and motivation
- Excellent technical writing skills, experience writing software design documentation
- Understanding of Oncology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field of biology
- Basic experience with bioinformatics tools and algorithms for NGS.
- Docker experience.
