Job Description:
Join a highly motivated and visible Autonomous Medical Operations for Exploration (AMO) team at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) and contribute to the development of a critically important medical decision support system for deep space missions. The AMO system will allow astronauts to conduct medical related tasks independent of Earth contact, enabling rapid computational analysis of biosensor and health data that supports augmented intelligence for clinical diagnosis; adverse event pattern recognition from physician medical notes and on-board databases (including personalized medicine); as well as automated reasoning on structured and unstructured text data. The system will be designed to operate in isolated environments with minimal resources. In particular, the framework will be optimized for computer power levels and data storage capacity anticipated on future, near-term exploration missions functioning without access to on-line literature (e.g., PubMed). In addition, the system will support computer-aided clinical image segmentation, feature extraction and biological interpretation; latent signal detection, natural language processing, content categorization of clinical notes and diagnostic advice. As a member of AMO team, you will contribute to the development of computational analytics and devising interpretive approaches to optimize extraction and use of biological and clinical imaging data for diagnostic and therapeutic translational medical applications. You will participate in; but not limited to:
Additional Info:
Work Location: NASA Ames Research Center (Mountain View, CA) Minimum Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Clearance: US Government QTS, Inc. is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. All candidates are considered regardless of race, color, religion, age, gender, disability or military status. [Click Here to Access the Original Job Post]
