Job Description:
Due to company growth, we are seeking a highly talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our Genomics team in the area of genome scale sequence assembly and analysis. The successful candidate will collaborate in the research, development, and commercialization of new assembly algorithms for long read sequencing data (Pacific Biosciences and Oxford Nanopore Technologies) as well as analysis methods for sequence-based workflows such as RNA-Seq and ChIP-Seq. These efforts will enable customers to determine complete genome sequences from any species de novo and combine genome information with gene expression and regulatory data to provide systems level analysis of traits and diseases. Required:
- Masters, PhD, or equivalent in computational biology or computer science
- Expert skills and experience in Java, C# or C++ and related tools
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development
- Working experience with the experimental or computational aspects of genomics
- Proven ability to work productively on a team
- Strong statistical background
- Experience developing software for genomics or molecular biology
- 1 or more years of commercial software development or equivalent industry experience
- Proficiency using Windows, MacOS (OS X), and Linux platforms
- Experience developing for the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP)
- Experience interfacing with computer clusters, preferably cloud-based
- Comfortable with large, complex datasets and algorithmic development
